Here are some of Gordy's favorite things and milestones:

AT 7 YEARS OLD
Best friends - Evie (someone he recently met at camp), Zion, Makaila & Alia

Favorite color - red

Favorite beach - Hammerheads (our beach)
Favorite movies - Back to the Outback
Favorite songs - Thunderstruck by AC/DC, Rock You Like a Hurricane by Scorpions, We Will Rock You by Queen
What I want to be when I grow up - Still a Fireman
Favorite foods - peanut butter, honey and banana sandwiches, watermelon, ulu tacos, chickpea soup, apples, cashews, pancakes and waffles
Most frequent sayings - bro or bruh, literally, 
Milestones - (1) Graduated from 1st grade.
                  (2) Finished 2 seasons of soccer and 1 season of basketball.
                  (3) Swam freestyle for 50yards in 0:55.
                  (4) Joined the swim team.
                  (5) Has traveled to 6 countries - Australia, Indonesia, France, Iceland, China, Taiwan.

AT 6 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - All Ice Age movies
Favorite shows - Grizzy and the Lemmings, Octonauts, Wild Kratts
What I want to be when I grow up - Fireman
Favorite foods - peanut butter, honey and banana sandwiches
Milestones - (1) Can dive off the 1m and 3m boards
                  (2) Can jump off the top of jump rock at Waimea
                  (3) Reads the entire Hop On Pop book
                  (4) Graduated from kindergarden

AT 5 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - Ice Age 1, 2 & 3, Madagascar
Favorite shows - If you give a mouse a cookie, stinky and dirty, superwings
Favorite songs - Play it Again by Luke Bryan, Honey Baby by Three Plus, Guava Jelly by Bob Marley & The Whalers
What I want to be when I grow up - Fireman
Favorite toys - pedal bike, lego kits, trucks, his swing that Todd made from the guava tree in the yard.
Favorite foods - pretty much everything is "this is the best thing ever... we should have this every night".
Milestones - (1) swam his first short length lap across the pool UNDERWATER
                  (2) can put together a 5+ lego kit all by himself by reading the directions.
                  (3) can read books 5 and 6 of the Bob Books without any help.
                  (4) upgraded to a much bigger pedal bike which he can ride super fast.

AT 4.5 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - Despicable Me, Ice Age 1, 2 & 3
Favorite songs - Play it Again by Luke Bryan, Honey Baby by Three Plus, Guava Jelly by Bob Marley & The Whalers
What I want to be when I grow up - Fireman
Favorite toys - pedal bike, trucks, card games
Favorite foods - broccoli with cheese, roasted pepper and tomato soup, pb&j, apples, carrots, tofu, smoothies, subway tuna sandwiches
Favorite book - The Goldbug book
Milestones - (1) swam his first short length lap across the pool freestyle
                  (2) can make his own pb&j sandwich
                  (3) can shampoo and condition by himself
                  (4) rides his pedal bike without training wheels
                  (5) can read a few basic words without help
                  (6) will trace dashed lines and will stay on top of them
                  (7) makes his own honey milk
                  (8) can write gordy, mom, todd and nana without any help

AT 4 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - Madagascar, Frozen & Frozen 2
Favorite shows - Fireman Sam, Superwings, Dinosaur Train, Stinky & Dirty
Favorite toys - trucks, balance bike, balls, art supplies, cardboard box forts, board games, cards (old main, crazy 8s, etc.), astro-robot, stuffed animals (his "little cuties")
Favorite foods - waffles, pb&js, dried pineapple, cashews
Favorite books - Winnie the Pooh (classic), Gerald & Piggie books, 
Milestones - (1) can hold his breathe underwater in the bathtub for up to 21 seconds
                   (2) can cut out shapes (drawn for him) with scissors
                   (3) can sign his name in sign language
                   (4) can spell a few words (i.e. Gordy, stop, bat, etc.)
                   (5) knows what sounds letters make
                   (6) can brush his teeth by himself
                   (7) will wipe his own okole after going poo
                   (8) can put an entire outfit on by himself
                   (9) can do 60-100 piece puzzles by himself

AT 3-1/2 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - Shrek, Olaf's Frozen Adventure, Cars
Favorite shows - Stinky and Dirty, Superwings
Favorite toys - trucks, balance bike, scooter, balls, ipad
Favorite foods - cashews, pb and js, watermelon, jelly toast, waffles, dried pineapple, "tickely drink" (anything fizzy)
Favorite song - Raindrops on Roses (from the Sound of Music), 12 Days of Christmas
Favorite books - There's just so many...
Favorite thing to do - watch vidis on his ipad, ride his balance bike/scooter, put on his jersey and play football, shoot hoops, play trucks with Nana
Milestones - (1) can put a shirt on by himself
                   (2) can swim breast stroke 5+ feet in the pool 
                   (3) will swim down 5ft to pick things up off the bottom of the pool
                   (4) can ride his balance bike all over the place without any help and without falling down
                   (5) can float on his back in the water for 15 seconds all by himself
                   (6) will hang his own shirts on hangers and then (with help) will hang them up
                   (7) can draw a circle and a square all by himself
                   (8) knows all of his letters and can easily ready them off the title of a book
                   (9) can count from 1:10 in English, Hawaiian, and Indonesian

AT 3 YEARS OLD
Favorite movies - Moana, Shrek
Favorite toys - scooter, trucks, garden shovels, puzzles, balls, ipad
Favorite foods - cashews, dried blueberries, cookies, watermelon, croissants, goldfish crackers
Favorite song - Jingle Bells
Favorite books - Critter Books
Favorite thing to do - play Go Fish, wrestle, dig in the garden, go swimming
Milestones - (1) made it over 3ft tall
                   (2) no longer needs his potty seat adjuster - he's a big boy now!
                   (3) can do 30+ piece puzzles all by himself
                   (4) sleeps in the big queen bed and not his crib, so his crib has been taken down
                   (5) swam a few strokes by himself without any flotation devices
                   (6) can get water out of the fridge all by himself
                   (7) can put his shorts/pants on by himself

AT 2-1/2 YEARS OLD
Favorite movie - Moana
Favorite toys - his trucks and magnetic trains, balls, ipad
Favorite foods - cashews, dried blueberries, treats (frozen coconut oil with a chocolate chip)
Favorite song - Drive my Car by The Laurie Berkner Band
Favorite books - This is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen and I Love the Earth by Todd Parr
Favorite thing to do - jump on Sogo's trampoline, ride his scooter, sweep, watch the rubbish truck
Milestones - (1) can count from one to five in English, Hawaiian, Spanish, French, and Balinese
                  (2) knows how to call / facetime people from our phones
                  (3) no longer needs his little plastic potty - he uses the big potty with the little seat adjuster
                  (4) quit nursing
                  (5) went on his first international trip (to Bali and Taipei)
                  (6) started preschool (Tutu and Me)
                  (7) sleeps in his crib without the side so he can climb in and out "by himself"

AT 2 YEARS OLD
Favorite book - My Awesome Nursery Rhymes Book
Favorite toys - his trucks, tractors, buses, etc.
Favorite foods - bars, snap pea crackers, apples, "cappas" (foamed milk), dried blueberries
Favorite song - The Canadian Snacktime Trilogy ii Popcorn by Barenaked Ladies
Favorite thing to do - jump!
Milestones - (1) will sing while strumming the ukulele or guitar
                   (2) will pet our faces if he's being too rough and we ask him to be nice
                   (3) can count (with a little help) to 15
                   (4) will wrap his baby doll in a blanky and will cradle/hug it
                   (5) says "poor guy" if he sees someone hurting
                   (6) learns and says a new word, if not every day, every week
                   (7) will jump off of almost anything if we say it's ok

AT 23 MONTHS OLD
Favorite book - My Awesome Nursery Rhymes Book
New foods - garbanzo beans, watermelon, feta, lychee
Milestones - (1) said his first 3-word sentence "more bar please"
                   (2) will put his face in the water and will blow bubbles
                   (3) jumps with two feet leaving the ground at the same time
                   (4) started playing "dress up" with hats, socks, shoes and swim goggles


AT 22 MONTHS OLD
Favorite song - happy birthday 
Favorite toy - elmo stuffed animal
Milestones - (1) is 100% potty trained during the day and about 50% potty trained during naps and sleeps
                   (2) will mimic almost anything that we say (good or bad)
                   (3) knows the colors: yellow, blue, red, purple and green
                   (4) understands that when mommy or daddy leaves, we are going to work
                   (5) introduces himself as "Gogo" sometimes to people
                   (6) can say two words back to back like "Mommy go" or "Nana car".

AT 21 MONTHS OLD
Favorite song - popcorn kernals
Favorite things to do - watch the rubbish truck each week pick up the bin, watch "vivis" (videos), going to find Snowflake
Milestones - (1) calls Todd "daddy" instead of "dada"
                   (2) is about 85% potty-trained during the day
                   (3) will walk (partway) to the playground instead of riding in his stroller the whole way
                   (4) talks full sentences of gogoish
                   (5) sleeps through the night from 7:30ish to 6ish
                   (6) climbs into his carseat himself and will ride happily back there
                   (7) has a reasonable understanding of 1 vs 2 (knows that 2 is more than 1)

AT 20 MONTHS OLD
Favorite toys - still sidewalk chalk, puzzles, and books
Favorite book - I'm a Dirty Dinosaur
Favorite foods - apples, granola bars, peanut butter
Favorite things to do - go tide pooling at our beach
Milestones - (1) calls me "mommy" instead of "mama"
                   (2) can do 4-piece puzzles all by himself
                   (3) has started crawling into things (cabinets, shelves, etc.)
                   (4) will take turns reading pages of his books with me
                   (5) loves to help with chores (taking out rubbish, watering the garden, feeding the worms, etc.)
                   (6) will give hugs and will pat you on the back while he's hugging you
                   (7) frequently wants me to name all of the trucks that I can think of while I'm nursing him
                   (8) will repeat things that we say and will watch our mouth intently to figure out how to say a word
                   (9) seems to understand that short term discomfort is worth delayed gratification - will ask for us to suction his stuffy nose even though he hates it

AT 19 MONTHS OLD
Favorite toys - sidewalk chalk, "Scoop" the tractor, books
Favorite foods - cashews, granola bars (or "bars" as Gordy calls them), fresh coconut water
Favorite story - The Very Hungry Caterpillar 
Milestones - (1) new words:  please, more, videos, beep beep, waimea, beach
                   (2) goes to bed at 7:30pm and will sleep till 4am all by himself
                   (3) still loves to dance
                   (4) knows how to turn the tv on
                   (5) can walk up and down the stairs all by himself
                   (6) talks up a storm
                   (7) brushes his teeth in the bathroom each night before bed

AT 18 MONTHS OLD
Favorite toy - sidewalk chalk
Favorite things to do - draw on the driveway with sidewalk chalk, dig in the dirt with his gardening tools
Favorite song - B-I-N-G-O
Favorite food - cashews
Milestones - (1) new animal noises: cat, dog, goat, elephant, wolf, owl
                   (2) will "jump" off of things into Todd's arms
                   (3) will ask us to put his shoes on him occasionally before going downstairs
                   (4) says "WOW!" when he sees Christmas lights
                   (5) will push his cars and trains around while saying "vroom vrooom"
                   (6) will hang laundry on his own clothes line to dry
                   (7) can hang from our pull up bar all by himself
                   (8) will "read" us his books if asked

AT 17 MONTHS OLD
Favorite toy - still his blankie
Favorite things to, do - swing, play at the playground, ride in the car (up front), go see the animals down the street
Favorite game - racing toys around the deck
Favorite song - 5 little monkeys
Favorite food - coconut water/meat
Milestones - (1) new words: zebra, no more, school bus, juice, bee, and bad
                   (2) will "jump" by throwing his arms up
                   (3) says "bad" anytime a loud truck or motorbike drives past
                   (4) will color on paper if he's given crayons
                   (5) is talking up a STORM! (mostly babble)
                   (6) had his first photo shoot for a kid's clothing company
                   (7) still loves, buses, trucks, boats, and rubbish vehicles to no end
                   (8) occasionally attempts to shaka when prompted
                   (9) will hold his finger up to this nose to say something is stinky

AT 16 MONTHS OLD
Favorite food - fresh coconut water
Favorite book - I know an old lady who swallowed a fly
Favorite toy - his blankie
Milestones - (1) can say "bye bye"
                   (2) learned how to climb up the side of the couch
                   (3) will strum his ukulele
                   (4) has discovered worms
                   (5) will race toys against anyone who will ask
                   (6) will give open mouth wet kisses 
                   (7) will flex his muscles on command
                   (7) has learned how to say "thank you" in sign language
                   (8) will head-butt
                   (9) lots of new molars have come through... I've stopped counting them

AT 15 MONTHS OLD
Favorite thing to do - watch videos of himself
Favorite food - raw eggplants off of our bush
Favorite toy - "lite dog"
Milestones - (1) 1st and 2nd canines (top) have popped through
                   (2) will show how old he is by holding up 1 finger
                   (3) was kissed by a girl (Sanoe) for the first time
                   (4) learned how to do his puzzle all by himself
                   (5) learned how to say "please" in sign language
                   (6) showed for the first time that he understands German by responding to Fela
                   (7) will bring us things (hats, shoes, etc.) to indicate that he wants to go outside

AT 14 MONTHS OLD
Favorite thing to do - go for a bike ride
Favorite toys - (1) bags or containers with things in them that he can take out and put back in.
                       (2) doors - he loves to open and close or slide them
                       (3) the coffee bean grinder and blender
Favorite word - dada
Favorite game - I'm gonna get you
Milestones - (1) has started blowing spit bubbles
                   (2) 1st molar is coming through
                   (3) 100% walking
                   (4) said "pop pop" for the first time
                   (5) will walk in and out of the ocean shore break while holding our hands
                   (6) learned how to blow a "honi honi"
                   (7) will put his palm on the ground to check to see if it's too hot

AT 13 MONTHS OLD
Favorite toys - (1) books, books, and more books!
                       (2) doors - he loves to open and close them or slide them
Favorite foods - broccoli, rice, blueberries
New word - no
Favorite game - peekaboo
Milestones - (1) will walk for 5-10 steps
                   (2) can crawl down stairs
                   (3) likes to pretend to share his food with his dad and then will fake him out at the last minute
                   (4) will play with friends at the playground
                   (5) will laugh to himself while reading books
                   (6) will point to things in books

AT 12 MONTHS OLD - 1 YEAR!!
Favorite toys - (1) his blankie
                       (2) anything he can push around (walker, mower, lego wagon, etc.)
                       (3) clothes pins
                       (4) his swing
                       (5) Mrs. Potato Head (he's not as stoked about her husband)
Favorite foods - raspberries, blueberries, cheese, seaweed, apples, broccoli, rice
Favorite game - "I'm getting you"
Milestones - (1) will stand up and push toys around the house
                   (2) teeth #7 and #8 popped through
                   (3) will clap his hands to celebrate things
                   (4) will wave goodbye (usually after the thing or person has already gone away)
                   (5) will give honi honi's on command
                   (6) can put lids back on cups/bottles
                   (7) will go for horsey-rides on our backs or shoulders 
                   (8) can climb up stairs and crawl up slides at the playground

AT 11 MONTHS OLD
Least favorite food - mango
Favorite things- his blankies, books, kitty cat keyboard, wooden safari animals
Favorite books - The Itsy Bitsy Pumpkin, Trucks, The Very Hungry Caterpillar 
Words - mama, dada, yes
Milestones - (1) will stick out his tongue when asked, "What does a giraffe say?".
                   (2) will hide around the corner and then peek around to play peek-a-boo
                   (3) got his 6th tooth
                   (4) throws everything
                   (5) will point at things if he wants them or wants to go somewhere
                   (6) babbles for long periods of time
                   (7) will read books to himself
                   (8) can turn around and slide down/off of things

AT 10 MONTHS OLD
Favorite food - smoothies, strawberries, broccoli, scrambled eggs, water
Favorite game - banging on windows like a caged animal trying to get out
Favorite song - Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree
Milestones - (1) will give high-fives
                   (2) got his 5th tooth
                   (3) shakes his head from left to right (not to say no... just a new thing)
                   (4) started crawling out of his bathtub
                   (5) loves to dance, dance, dance
                   (6) will do a somersault (with an assist)
                   (7) takes bites of food (bananas and apples)
                   (8) tilts his head up, closes his eyes, opens his mouth and lets out a yell
                   (9) will put his toys back in the bucket occasionally

AT 9 MONTHS OLD
Favorite food - cheerios
Favorite game - Where's Gordy?
Favorite thing to do - Go! ... swimming, get the mail, etc. (Anything that involves going.)
Milestones - (1) pulls himself up to a standing position
                   (2) will take steps while holding our hands/fingers
                   (3) has started sitting in a high chair for meals
                   (4) has a new friend - Eva
                   (5) has figured out that he can crawl onto the deck by himself when the door is open
                   (6) knows what papaya trees and coconut trees are and will look at at them when we say their names
                   (7) got his top two teeth
                   (8) sings (or yells) anytime we run the blender

AT 8 MONTHS OLD
Favorite book - That's Not My kitty, The Going to Bed Book, The Monster at the End of This Book
Favorite toy - musical walker, kitty keyboard, wooden spoons, empty water bottles, hair brushes
Favorite animal - Chickens and roosters
Milestones - (1) started crawling
                   (2) waved for the first time
                   (3) brushes his teeth daily (really he chews on his toothbrush)
                   (4) has enough hair to brush
                   (5) will turn the pages in the books
                   (6) has figured out how to open drawers and cabinets
                   (7) talks up a storm (mamamama, babababa, etc.)
                   (8) will pick up and throw a ball
                   (9) will lift up my shirt to find my piko
                   (10) drinks out of a sippy cup by himself

AT 7 MONTHS OLD
Favorite song - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Favorite toy - anything that he can chew on
Milestones - (1) pulls himself up all by himself
                   (2) got his two bottom front teeth
                   (3) covers and uncovers his face with the blanket to play peek-a-boo with us
                   (4) will call out to us if we say "where's Gordy?"
                   (5) will "get us" with his open mouth if we are "getting him"
                   (6) rolls from front to back without hesitation
                   (7) is as mobile as can be without actually crawling
                   (8) remembers people and smiles at them

AT 6 MONTHS OLD
Favorite books - Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See, The Itsy Bitsy Pumpkin, and Geckos Surf
Favorite toy - a yellow rubber star that he chews on, and cardboard boxes that he can sit in
Favorite food - anything that we're eating
New foods - carrot, broccoli, beets, ginger, jabong, hummus, persimmons, sweet peppers, tomatoes, blueberries, grapes
Milestones - (1) has moved into his crib at night... well, for at least half of the night ;)
                   (2) says "mamamama" all the time and for everything (has no idea what it means though).
                   (3) has gotten too big for his bucket and now takes baths in the bathtub
                   (4) like to play peek-a-boo
                   (5) belly laughed
                   (6) went for our first run together in our new jogging stroller

AT 5 MONTHS OLD
Favorite book - still Zoo Babies
Favorite toy - his Finding Nemo jumper
Favorite solid food - strawberries
Milestones - (1) sat up for the first time
                   (2) talks/babbles for extended periods of time
                   (3) put himself to sleep (by crying for 10 minutes) without boob
                   (4) fed himself enough sand to be up all night spewing
                   (5) started eating solid foods more regularly (rice cereal at breakfast and dinner)
                   (6) makes an "mmmm" sound after each bite of rice cereal
                   (7) started responding to his own name
                   (8) understands who his "mommy" and "daddy" are
                   (9) knows he's going to be dunked underwater and starts preparing for it when we count "1, 2, 3"
                   (10) has gotten too big for his bassinet and has graduated to the pack-n-play at night
                   (11) will drink water out of a cup if we put it to his lips
                   (12) rode in an airplane for the first time

AT 4 MONTHS OLD
Favorite body part - his tongue
Favorite book - Zoo Babies
Milestones - (1) rolled over for the first time
                   (2) was tossed into the air by dad... and liked it
                   (3) tried solid foods (banana, poi, papaya, and avocado)

AT 3 MONTHS OLD
Favorite body part - his feet
Favorite book - Fifteen Animals
Milestones - (1) laughed for the first time
                   (2) grabbed his feet for the first time
                   (3) was fully dunked in the ocean for the first time at Papailoa (no crying!!)
                   (4) stood on his own two feet with only a little help from Dad

AT 2 MONTHS OLD
Best friends - Mr. Ceiling Fan and Mrs. Blanket
Favorite body part - his newly discovered hands

AT 1 MONTH OLD
Favorite book - Giraffes Can't Dance
Favorite place to sleep during the day - Swing
Favorite place to sleep at night - Bassinet / Mom and Dad's bed
Favorite clothes - None (he prefers to be naked)
Favorite thing to do - Eat
Favorite thing to do besides eat - Take a warm shower or bath
