"detected"

Todd has been some version of sick for over a month now.  His symptoms have included occasional headaches, body aches, fatigue, sinus pressure, shortness of breath, and a nasty cough.  Some days he seems nearly normal and then others he's laid out on the bed/couch for what seems like the majority of the day.  He's been struggling to do normal Sells family activities and workouts and he's been sleeping a lot more than usual.  So, we've taken him to get covid tested multiple times.  And each time, his results come back "not detected"... until Monday night.

He's been working as a stunt double on the new Adam Sandler movie, and the entire crew is required to test daily.  For an entire week, his daily tests have come back negative and since he's been kind of sick, we'd always hold our breath as he opened up the result pdf with our fingers crossed that he's negative.  His final day of work was Tuesday, so all he had to do was make it through one last test... "detected".

Once Todd dried his eyes from being sad about not getting to work again, we started figuring out what his diagnosis meant for our family.  While we all do live together, he'd been so busy with working that Gordy and I actually hadn't been around him much in the last 72 hours.  So, we decided that I'd sleep in Gordy's room for a while, Todd would eat meals in the other room (because masks can't be worn when eating), and we'd all wear masks when in the house and/or near each other.

The whole thing is a little confusing for Gordy, but he's adjusting.  Just to be safe, we all went and got tested this morning and Gordy and my tests have come back as "not detected".  So, at least for the moment, the two of us are covid-free.  Which means that we are better able to care for "our sick dad".

And, we always have the beach to go and enjoy even while isolating!
