so many oranges

Our friends have a farm halfway up snake road that is full of fruit trees. They’ve recently sold it to someone who doesn’t farm the fruit, so our friends continue to harvest the trees for the new owner. They invited us up to help with their harvest because Gordy loves to “harvest” and there is so much fruit that they cannot consume or give enough of it away before it falls on the ground.

So, Gordy and I grabbed some large paper bags, threw on our boots, and headed over to help.

In the end, we must have brought home 50+ oranges of various varieties, 20+ lemons, 20+ lilikois, and a handful of limes. We distributed some to our neighbors and friends and spent the next week and a half juicing!  We made it through all but one before they went bad and we are starting to miss the fresh juice/fruit.

Thankfully, our friends will be back at the farm tomorrow and have invited us for a second round of harvesting!  So, we'll back to mainlining vitamin c into our bodies by noon tomorrow - hooray!
