quite a hike

Since Eva's visa will be up soon, we are doing our best to do everything on her bucket list these last few weeks.  One of the things on the list - hike to a waterfall.  So, based on a recommendation from a friend (thanks Dana!) we set out conquer Lulumahu Falls yesterday.  Karen and Sanoe joined us and the hike did not disappoint!  We made out way through a bamboo forest, walked through an incredible valley, rock climbed our way back forth across a riverbed, and eventually made it to a 50 foot waterfall!  Gordy cruised the whole way in our new hiking pack (that we got from a garage sale for $10) with only the occasional protest when he got a little jostled from crawling over a big log or boulder.
After our hike, we hit Kailua beach for a quick swim to wash away the mud and sweat from the hike before making our way home.
