French finale

We had a wonderful stay in Sault. After lots of hugs and promises of a future visit, we started on our road trip to Hossegor.

Sadly, Gordy had a tummy bug and within 20 minutes of getting on the road and he vomited twice. That seemed to be the end of his tummy problems though because he then passed out in the backseat and slept for the next 4-1/2 hours. We finally woke him up when we got to Toulouse for some lunch, a load of laundry at a laverie, and a swim at an awesome pool that had a kiddie pool with a mini slide.

We eventually made it to Hossegor where we spent a few days at our friend’s, Thierry and Delphine, house. We ate delicious food, enjoyed the beach, and caught up with our great friends.

An hour before we were supposed to walk out the door and begin the next leg of our drive, Gordy popped a fever of 102.7. So Delphine and Todd grabbed some fever reducer from the pharmacy and then we said our goodbyes and  headed out with some seriously modified travel plans (i.e. no pool swim along the way). The medicine did it’s job and Gordy felt some relief for a while. But, by the time we got to our hotel that night, his temp had gone up to 104 and he started puking. We were able to get some more medicine in him and within an hour, his temp had gone down below 103 - phew!

After a good nights sleep, Gordy’s fever had gone away and he seemed like his old self again. So, we packed up and made the final trek to Paris on his birthday! We made a few food / pool and water slide / toilet stops along the way, and finally ended up at our hotel for the night in Paris.

We head to Iceland tomorrow for our final destination before we return home.
